We are committed to protecting the privacy of the information we collect about you as a user of our website and have made a notification to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as a data controller under the relevant Data Protection legislation. A reference to us or we or our or the company within this privacy policy is a reference to the corporate entity that owns the websites.

This document sets out our policy on the use of personal data. This privacy policy may be updated from time to time in order to ensure that our practices concerning personal data are consistent with the legislative frameworks.

The Service is provided by WM People Limited, a company registered in England & Wales (Company no:5714476. VAT reg no. 877 6054 83) residing at Finsgate, 5-7 Cranwood Street, London, England, EC1V 9EE. (“we”, “us”, “our”, “the Company”).

Information which we may collect and information security

We use industry standard SSL encryption when processing sensitive information such as usernames and passwords to safeguard your data.

We keep to strict security standards to prevent any unauthorized access to your details.

In order to provide the best possible service to you, each website collects and stores certain personal information provided by you when you register to use the Website(s). This may include, without limitation, your name, address, e-mail address and telephone number.

  • You do not need to register to search our website or apply for some jobs.
  • However, when applying for certain jobs you will have to upload your personal details, for example your email address and CV, in order that it can be sent to the employer – this is mandatory.
  • To use some of our other facilities you may be asked to supply your email address, password and also store your career profile and CV – although none of this is mandatory. You are advised to provide information that may requested of you to ensure that you have the full benefit of our services provided.

How we use your information

Our online facilities will enable you to apply for jobs and business opportunities, receive email job alerts and other jobs and alternative flexible working opportunity newsletters, advertise your part-time jobs and services, or contact our advertisers on our website. If you want to advertise your part-time jobs or services, you will need to supply your contact details.

We will use the information which we collect about you for the purposes of:

  • Registering and maintaining you as a user of the Service, including facilitating password resets,
  • Correspondence with you, including sending Alerts, Notifications, Product Updates, Promotions and newsletters
  • Participating in online surveys to help us enhance our services and products for you.
  • Analysis to improve the content of the service, enhance Users’ experiences of the service, and customise the content and/or layout of our pages.

You may control your subscriptions to any of the above marketing content notifications via the Settings feature of the Service.

Market Research

We may also use personal and account information to perform market, statistical and behavioural analyses to produce Market Research, consisting of statistical datasets and reports which have been anonymised, which we may share, sell or licence to third parties at our discretion. We follow the Information Commission Office’s guidelines on the anonymization of Market Research and take measures to ensure Market Research does not contain information that identifies you.

Other people who have to be able to access your information

In certain situations, we may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.

Profile and CV information

When you complete your candidate profile, it may be made available for searching, viewing over the Internet, and downloading by our customers.

Customers who request information on candidates matching your profile to be sent to them will receive your profile and contact details by email.

These may be direct recruiters, employment consultants or other organisations. You can also choose to make your personal details anonymous, while having your profile available to be searched on by recruiters. In this instance, our Service identifies you to recruiters with an ID number. You can then choose to reveal yourself when you reply.

IMPORTANT: Your current employer may be a customer of us, or a client of one of our customers.

As part of posting a career profile and CV on our sites, the Service offers you the option of allowing recruiters to see your profile and attached CV or not. If you choose to allow recruiters to view your profile and attached CV, you can then block specific recruiters but only if they are an existing customer of the Service. We provide no warranty to you that any such recruiters can be blocked, particularly if they are not an existing customer of the Service.

We also use the aggregate data to identify employment trends across different industries, such as salary averages. This information will not be capable of being linked to any personally identifying information about users. If you choose to create a profile and upload a profile to our database, we rely on you to ensure that your details are kept up to date.

You should update your profile every six – twelve months, particularly if your contact details have changed.

Once your profile is on our database we will contact you every twelve months using your most recent contact details to ask whether you want it to remain there. If we do not hear from you, your profile will be removed from our database.

Please note that we reserve the right to remove from our database profiles which include any content that we consider to be illegal or offensive. We will also remove a profile if a complaint is upheld, which has been made against it.
