Which of the fastest growing sectors are most open to remote working? A new study looks at the evidence.
If you are looking for a flexible new job, you might want to consider which sectors are more likely to be advertising roles that can be done remotely.
A study by legal experts WrightHassall.co.uk is based on an analysis of the fastest growing job sectors – according to LinkedIn – and on job postings on Indeed for 10 key roles in those sectors.
It found that, at 40%, IT has the highest percentage of current job listings that are either remote only, or temporarily remote. Roles looked at include data analysts and SEO specialists.
Marketing came second with 32% of current openings listed as remote. Content creative was third, at just under 32% and included roles such as marketing officer and journalist.
At the opposite end of the list, current positions in the Real Estate sector are third from the bottom of the 10 sectors at 5.81%. Top remote working jobs in this sector include sales negotiator and property Surveyor. Construction jobs were second bottom, with only 2.96% of these positions being able to
operate remotely.
In 10th place was Ecommerce, with only 1.67% of current job listings being open to remote working. Roles include online sales assistant and supply chain associate.
