Four simple words represent the Ageas brand experience: Care, Share, Deliver, and Dare and we hold ourselves accountable to these values.
We CARE by respecting and helping those around us, whilst staying true to who we are. That means listening and embracing different opinions, putting ourselves in other’s shoes, and building trust by doing the right things every time for our stakeholders.
We SHARE by learning, inspiring and sharing what we know and experience, in a culture that thrives on the concept of continuous learning. We believe in the importance of setting an example through our actions, but also on the benefit of working as a team.
We DELIVER on our promises and we make things happen by staying focused on our priorities and keeping things simple. In everything we do we strive for excellence, aiming to be the best at what matters most to our stakeholders, and holding ourselves fully accountable.
We DARE by pushing boundaries and by daring to take a chance. We learn from our experiences and remain inquisitive about what we can do differently. We create new ideas and push ourselves beyond what we know today towards what we should know tomorrow.
We offer hybrid working, with colleagues typically spending one day a week in the office and the rest of the week working from home (we also offer some roles that are 100% remote). We’re also happy to combine this with part-time and other flexible work patterns. We also guarantee an interview for anyone with a disability who meets the minimum requirements for a role. Our four colleague resource groups are open to anyone to join. They are run by people at Ageas who feel passionately about inclusion in general and specifically the colleague resource group they are part of. Our colleague resource groups are Ageas Equal (gender), enABLE (disability), Ethnicity and LGBT+. They do great work on raising awareness of important topics and support the business in achieving their D&I initiatives.
We believe our people work best when they are able to achieve balance between work and other aspects of life. That’s why we are committed to developing a culture and working environment that promote the benefits and wellbeing of all our employees.
We want to support you and encourage you to fulfil your potential through:
It’s really important to us that our people get the recognition they deserve. The VIP Awards is an employee recognition scheme across the business. VIP stands for ‘Values in Practice’ and is designed to recognise and celebrate employees who are role models of one or more of our Values.
The VIP Awards scheme is designed to complement the annual Ageas Stars Awards by giving our employees more frequent and local recognition.
We won Personal Lines Insurer of the Year at the British Insurance Awards 2021 and achieved The Institute of Customer Service’s coveted Service Mark Accreditation. We achieved Top Employer status in 2022.
We demonstrate our commitment to Diversity and Inclusion by being signatories to the Government’s Women in Finance Charter and the Race at Work Charter. We’re also a Stonewall Diversity Champion, Disability Confident employer and members of the Business Disability Forum.
Jackie Oram
I am 54 and I’m proud of my age and the experiences I have gained in 30 years at Ageas, including:
I began my career in Bishopsgate Insurance in 1991. My eldest was a baby and Bishopsgate was one of the first companies to offer twilight shifts for administration roles. My journey began as a data imputer. Seven years and one more child later I joined customer services working school hours, 3 days a week. I then moved to sales support, part time with our sales team and senior executives. Having children was never a barrier. In fact, I recall phoning a broker on behalf of our Chief Executive saying he would be late, he was taking his son to school as he was upset that day. As my children got older, I worked full time and moved to Credit Risk and began studying for my AICM. So began further education in my late 30’s. I had another baby at 42 and went part time again. This was not an issue, and my role was never seen as less important. At 52 I applied for a position in a developing department: Procurement. My age, experience and knowledge are seen as an asset to the team.
I am as enthusiastic today as I was 30 years ago and embrace new challenges and opportunities offered to me within an inclusive and diverse company
