Job Details

Bromley Healthcare is a community interest company providing a wide range of services including community nursing services such as district nursing, health visiting to specialist nurses, as well as therapy services for children, young people and adults. Being born from NHS Bromley’s community provider unit we have been providing community services to the people of Bromley for many years and we have a wealth of experience.

Bromley Healthcare is a great place to work. The unique way we deliver services and offer everyone who works here a voice, means that your career with us will be rewarding. Social Enterprises are a fairly new and exciting way to deliver healthcare, offering many of the traditional advantages of the NHS (such as excellent training and development) with the freedom for innovation by being able to reinvest any surpluses we make into the community.

Priority consideration will be given to Bromley Healthcare staff formally identified as being at risk.

Please note that for positions that require you to drive as part of your job role we will be asking for evidence of business insurance.

Job overview

We have introduced a new position into the DN teams,  Community Clinical Quality Leads.  Each of the 4 District Nurse neighbourhood teams  will have a Community Clinical Quality Lead.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced District nurse who has a passion in supporting staff with delivering high quality care.

The Clinical Quality Lead will work within the Community Nursing Service working closely with the Caseload Holders and PCN Managers to plan implement and evaluate the development of staff. They will work with designated teams to coordinate and embed learning and development ensuring that staff are competent and capable to undertake their roles. Please note that this role will involve working across the Twilight and Night Nursing Teams, with some day coverage.

These roles won't be the only people responsible for students/competencies etc as there are elements that would still remain within the DN teams and existing roles. However, these roles will be the leads.

Please note that an essential minimum requirement for this post is that you should have completed your DN course.

Please ensure that you use the Supporting Information section to adequately detail how you feel you meet the JD requirements and why you are interested in this post.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have responsibility for coordinating the training and practice experience of one or more Student District Nurses and be responsible for the competency assessments of the Registered Nurses, both new and established, Nursing Associates and Health Care Assistants.

The Clinical Quality Lead will support other District Nurses & Senior Community Nurses with clinical matters being a source of clinical expertise. It will be the Clinical Quality Leads responsibility to ensure staff competences are signed off within an agreed time.

This will be achieved by teaching, supervising and facilitating student learning and assessing students’ fitness to practise and involve working and liaising closely with colleagues from the Higher education Institutions
The post holder will contribute towards and maintain a high quality learning environment for all students and staff.

The post holder will also be expected to identify themes following incidents, observations and support the PCN Managers with an action plan to tackle clinical quality issues.

What difference does this make?

Because our Nurses, therapists and support staff co-own Bromley Healthcare CIC and have a real say in how our services are run, this has created a greater sense of ownership, responsibility & motivation among our staff which in turn creates better quality for our patients & families.

If you are keen to work for a dynamic, forward thinking but different type of NHS employer then Bromley Healthcare could be for you!

From health visiting to district nursing, school nurses to specialist nurses, our nursing services help new parents to care for new born children and older people to continue living at home through care and support. We also have a wide range of therapy services for adults and children, including speech and language therapy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy whilst our specialist services focus on preventing diseases and supporting those living with specific conditions such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) or diabetes.
