This is a great opportunity to join the Virtual Data Center (VDC) team at Sky, supporting our existing group-wide software-defined datacenter (SDDC) capability, and helping to expand and evolve the product into new areas.

 


What you'll do:

 

* Assist with the architecture, design, implementation, and support of large-scale SDDCs, throughout Europe
* Work within the larger organisation to help integrate the offerings of other teams into the solution, helping to turn them into an easily consumable catalog of products.
* Work with key stakeholders to deliver complex, high-profile technical projects, into the private clouds, including clearly communicating technical challenges and progress.
* Driving technical excellence in everything we do and contributing to a culture of automation, security, and operational efficiency

 


What you'll bring:

 

* A passion for automation, and creating services which help Sky's internal development teams deliver against their objectives
* Programming / scripting to a production level (Python, PowerShell, vRO JavaScript)
* Experience with VMware products such as vRealize Automation (vRA), vRealize Orchestration (vRO), Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG) and VMware NSX
* Knowledge of configuration management / IaaS toolsets such as Ansible, SaltStack, Terraform and Puppet
* Familiarity with continuous integration principles and tooling, such as Concourse, Jenkins and CodeStream
* Proven track record of delivering automation solution using Infrastructure as code
* Good knowledge of working with private-cloud solutions, ideally with VMware products or other relevant products
* Ability to work well under pressure, deliver to deadlines and take ownership of issues to ensure success for our customers, both internally and externally
