Business Operations Director / COO, Global Offshore Wind Business - Green Investment Group
Macquarie’s Green Investment Group is looking for a Business Operations Director / COO to support its rapidly growing global offshore wind business.
Green Investment Group’s global offshore wind business, is responsible for the successful management and delivery of a pipeline of 15+ GW of offshore wind projects, the origination of new opportunities and partnerships as well as the provision of asset management and advisory services to third party investors. This role is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual to take a leadership role in defining and implementing the various strategic and operational processes required to support the business as it looks to move to the next phase of growth in becoming a global market leader.
The role will be based in London, report directly into the CEO of GIG’s global offshore wind business and comprise the following key responsibilities:
- Support the senior management team in defining and evolving the organisation and global operating model for the business in a fast-paced growth environment
- Establish and oversee the day-to-day business support operations, including HR, Technology, Office Infrastructure, Secretarial Services, Marketing & Communications
- Select, engage and oversee external service providers to complement internal resources and ensure quality and value-for-money of the services provided
- Take accountability for establishing and controlling robust operational budgets, ensure cost effectiveness of operations and report regularly to the board on operational performance
- Regularly review operations to ensure these meet required standards and the evolving needs of the business
- Partner with other C-level executives to accomplish short and long-term operational goals and provide support in operationalising strategic and commercial initiatives
To succeed in this role, you will have at least 10 years’ experience in operational roles in a fast growing business environment and a track record of efficiently managing a variety of operational functions. Excellent communication skills, a strong analytical toolkit, resilience and leadership qualities in multi-functional teams will be key to this role. Although not an essential requirement, experience in Renewable Energy or related fields would be beneficial. Previous experience with offshore wind projects and of working in a multi-national business would be an advantage.
