About the Team
BIS are a growing team of 30+ Developers, Analysts and Project Managers responsible for providing the business with data solutions. We have a strong mix of skills and experience who support one another offering guidance, help and training.

Historically an on premise MS SQL Server based tech stack we now have operational solutions in Azure using technologies such as Data Lake, Data Factory, Data Bricks, SQL MI and PowerBI.

About the Role
As a Trainee Developer you will work on developing new and supporting existing solutions. You will spend time working in a number of workstreams to expose you to our technologies and challenges.

You will spend at least 3 months in the Support Team where you will learn the ropes and get to understand how BIS systems work and the operational challenges we face. This learning will stand you in good stead when you move on to development projects as you will be able to apply this learning to deliver robust and performant data solutions.

Working in Agile teams you will work closely with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Support Analysts and other BIS developers. You will also get to work with business Product Owners and members of the business teams plus there will be interaction with other systems teams who are the source of most of BIS’ data.

Specific learning objectives will be set to ensure that your skill set is developing through supported personal development plans.There will be a buddy assigned in the team to help you settle in and to answer the many questions you will have. There is also a larger community of trainees within Next Systems to join.

We are looking for people who want to learn new skills, get hands-on experience with the latest technologies and become very knowledgeable of BIS’ systems. Essential
Degree or equivalent in IT or related subject
Demonstrable programming skills, particularly SQL
Microsoft Office/GSuite or similar
