Job description
Here at the Maritime & Coastguard Agency we have an exciting opportunity available for a dynamic and proactive Key Account Manager to come and join our team. You will provide 24/7 customer service by being a pro-active, dedicated point of contact for owners and managers of UK registered merchant vessels. Ensuring retention of existing fleets and seeking out and converting new opportunities. You will forge relationships with new opportunities whilst driving the establishment of the UK flag as an obligatory requirement on flag shortlists.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Promote the UK Ship Register as The Responsible Flag in accordance with the MCA Big 3 strategy and UKSR Future Operating Model.
• To isolate opportunities for new vessels and operators to join the flag and ensure the UK flag is an obligatory inclusion on all flagging in shortlists.
• To operate within the UKSR KPI framework to develop leads and opportunities within a sales funnel.
• Continue to build relationships at an appropriate level with both ship owner/operators and industry groups by holding customer meetings in accordance with the Stakeholder Map and attend industry events as required.
• Coordinate stakeholders' responsibilities to ensure registration services are consistently carried out in line with agreed processes.
• Continuous improvement in all areas of the customer journey including as set out in the Future Operating Model, review of flagging-in instructions, policy, guidance and application forms; take forward new initiatives and monitor the quality of the UK Ship Register.
• Communicate effectively with staff (Internal & External) at all levels within the Agency and with shipping related companies, especially operational e.g. superintendents, CSO's DPA's etc
• Act as the dedicated focal point for administration and policy matters during flag-in process and continuing customer care after flag-in is complete. To provide 24/7 customer support as required by business needs.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to external and internal customer enquiries by maintaining good and open communications with all customers and maintaining up to date data on all customers using Customer Relationship Management system.
