Commodities and Global Markets provides clients with an integrated, end-to-end offering across global markets businesses including equities, fixed income, foreign exchange and commodities.

The Enterprise Data Management (EDM) program within Commodities and Global Markets Group works closely with the Commodities and Global Markets Group Data Officer and stakeholders across the Group to identify critical data and develop a comprehensive data governance framework. 

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced data quality analyst to join a growing team and drive the roll-out of data management best practices across all Commodities and Global Markets businesses.

In this role, you’ll be involved with initiatives that impact a broad range of Commodities and Global Markets businesses and other Macquarie groups.  You will be central to the data strategy and implementing data governance across the business.

In joining our team, your responsibilities will include:

  • designing and developing a centralised dashboard to visualise data quality metrics across the Commodities and Global Markets business, using tools such as Power BI
  • modelling and perform statistical analysis on complex trading data sets.
  • defining and creating product-based data quality rules to ensure that we understand what good data quality looks like and we conform to it
  • periodic reporting on Commodities and Global Markets data quality, including issue management and resolution
  • working with senior stakeholders across the business to provide feedback on data quality and resolve issues

You should have an interest understanding the Commodities and Global Markets products and business, data modelling and visualisation as well as experience in data governance or data quality analysis.

To be successful in this role:

  • you hold a tertiary degree;
  • Sound knowledge of Power BI and Microsoft suite, especially Excel
  • 3+ years Financial Services experience
  • you have experience in financial markets, financial services, or management consulting
  • financial products background is advantageous (although but not a pre-requisite)
  • Experience in data quality preferred but not essential
  • strong communication skills are essential to work with all levels of stakeholders and to quickly build relationships
  • you have keen attention to detail and the ability to prioritize responsibilities in a rapidly changing environment
  • proven ability to take on ownership and demonstrate accountability for results, balanced by sound professional judgement.
