We are looking for a motivated Individual, who is passionate about the application of data management policies and guidance who wants to develop their knowledge in building an understanding of the make-up, requirements, ownership and use cases for the people data the Department for Transport manages on a day to day basis.
The librarian will take an active role in assisting the Data Visualization Lead with building an ecosystem of self-service reporting for HR management information, and support development and using their knowledge of available data sources and limitations to shape requirements.
will include but not be limited to the following:
• A data catalogue, describing the sources, owners and interdependencies
• A data dictionary, describing fields and limitations
• Data and analysis relating to requests; what’s being requested and for what purpose.
• An analysis catalogue; collating outputs from past analysis or responses along with any third-party data (such as from CIPD, or IES) that may support analysis activity or provide quick responses to questions and avoid duplication of work.
• Analysis of request patterns to suggest development opportunities for self-service reporting via Power BI
• Delivery of ad-hoc statistical information and responses to official correspondence
You will ideally have experience in the following areas:
• An understanding of Data Management
• Experience with large and varied data sources
• Proficient working with analysis and reporting tools
• Able to manage a range of tasks for multiple work areas within the Department for Transport
