About the job Summary

The FSA is a non-ministerial department of over 1300 people, with a big vision – to drive change in the food system so that it delivers “food we can trust” – now that we have left the EU, the scale of this challenge cannot be underestimated. More than 90% of food and feed law in the UK currently comes from Europe and our primary goal is to continue to protect public health and UK consumers’ wider interest in food.

Job description

At the FSA we want everyone to feel that they matter. We believe that our people need to feel they can be their whole, best self at work to deliver our mission of ‘Food you can trust’ to the best of their ability. To us, it’s simple: if you can be fully you, we will be better at fully being the FSA. No one should feel that they need to change to ‘fit in’ or ‘progress’ – everyone should feel included at work, with the opportunities and support to thrive and achieve their aspirations, whatever they may be.

We already lead across government with our innovative approach to flexible working and we want to ensure that the FSA embraces diversity and inclusion to the fullest extent possible too.

This newly created role will be responsible for delivering a step change in the diversity of our workforce. Significant effort has gone into delivering our D&I commitments over the past few years, but we recognise that we still have more to learn about our own working culture, attitudes and behaviour. We are making good progress on our current action plan and now we are looking for an inspirational and experienced professional who can accelerate our progress by introducing fresh momentum and best practice to our efforts.

You will be part of the People and Organisational Change team but will work closely with colleagues and senior leaders across the Agency. To be successful in this role you will bring your previous experience of working in a D&I role as well as your passion about improvement and have a proven track record of culture change and effective programme delivery in this space.

If you are an authentic leader who is willing to share personal experiences and have open and honest conversations at all levels to achieve real culture change, we look forward to receiving your application!
