Our vacancy

We are recruiting an ad hoc dog walker. You will start with one dog at a time, however we will train you to walk four dogs at once. We would also like to hear from you if you have a certificate in dog grooming, training or other dog related qualifications. 

Who we are 

We are an eco-friendly pet company. We keep our driving distances down by keeping our pets as local as possible to our dog walkers. We have had some very successful candidates who have volunteered with Cinnamon Trust.  Our team ranges from ex-policemen to ex-nurses, ex-school governors and ex-teachers.

How we work

There is also no obligation to take on pets that don’t work out for you, we will always find you the pets that you bond with. Those who show a good attitude to work can expect regular clients and more work. You can put a ‘cap’ on how many hours you would like to work and how much travelling you want to do. 

We can offer you:

• Mornings only
• Afternoons only
• Full days
• Five days a week 
• Any three/four days a week of your choice (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are our busiest days) 
• Term time only or at least reduce your hours during school holidays if desired 
• A dog first aid course 
• Additional weekend work, at a rate of time and a half, if desired
• Bank holidays at a rate of double time if desired

It is essential that you: 

• Have two years or more of dog experience (owning a dog or working for someone to look after their dog).
• Drive your own vehicle and are content with transporting dogs in your vehicle. Full training on transporting dogs safely is given to our staff.  
• Happy to undertake a DBS check.
• Live in Wimbledon. 
• Understand that this is a self-employed role.
• Have two work related references (they can come from the same company if you have worked in the same place for a number of years). 
• Are available between 10:30am-2:00pm at least three days a week (there are additional hours either side of this slot).

It is desirable that you:

• Are confident walking two or more dogs at once (full training is given if necessary and you will only walk more than one dog when you are confident).
• Have a spacious vehicle to take at least three dogs at a time. 
• Have some customer service experience.
• Are sociable; we try to have regular meet-ups with our team. 
• Can think on your feet, however I am always on the phone for advice. 
• Are open to having some dogs for a daycare/overnights, either in their homes or yours.
