We are a successful and growing International SME Software Company, backed by Venture Capital.

Role: Finance Manager

Based: UK. Mainly remote working, occasional travel to UK may be required, as agreed

Reports to: CFO, based London. Role has a 1 direct report ( PT assistant)

0.8 FTE – 32 hours per week

Salary £50k base Full Time i.e. £40k pro rata’d.

Main Duties
-Responsible for managing the Group monthly close process and production of Management Accounts and Board Pack Inputs ( e.g metrics). Monthly/ Quarterly Investor Reporting.

-Responsible ‘hands on’ for forecasting, scenario planning, Budgeting and maintenance of the Long Term planning model ( with input from CFO). Refreshing the model regularly with actuals and new assumptions.

-Responsible for running Group year-end close process including management of audit and tax close.

-Responsible for ensuring UK accounts are fully reconciled, accurate and timely, includes regular review of reconciliations and review of system inputs

-Manage working capital of the Group with CFO including all ‘hands on’ transaction management i.e. review of transaction processing, payroll review. CFO will be initially handling bank processing and then review adding, as appropriate.

-Input into changes in financial procedures and process

-Support in calculation of variable compensation (CFO currently does)

Pre Requisites
-Suitably qualified accountant with demonstrable experience of Financial Accounting and Planning, creating and maintaining good documentation and process.

-Ability and desire to get ‘hands on’ into the transactions and primary entry ( journals, cash, invoices). This role will suit a candidate with proven experience working in a SME.

-Advanced Excel (as maintaining a large multi- year planning model)

-Able to work independently, following clear guidelines and instruction, and ask appropriate clarifying questions. Ability to ‘problem solve’ is essential.

-Strong communication skills, ability to ‘own’ the work and process, and suggest solutions to issues and suggest appropriate solution to CFO

-Experience of Deferred Income accounting

-Abiity to give clear instruction to a staff member and review their work.

Ideal:
-Prior experience of Xero
-Experience of Mid -sized Tech , R&D Tax Credits, working with Venture Capital or Similar investors
