Closing date

This is an opportunity for you to join our Green Investment Ratings and Impact Advisory team. Sitting within our overarching Green Investment Group, you’ll help support the transition to a low carbon, sustainable global economy. Based in Edinburgh, you’ll report to a Senior Manager and will be a closely integrated member of the team as you support our international green investment activity.

As an Executive, you will be responsible for assessing, monitoring and reporting on the green impact and rating of investments by Green Investment Group or third parties. This will involve analysis of qualitative and quantitative information relating to the technical and environmental performance of assets. You will have 3-6 years’ experience with a proven track record in applying environmental science, policy and/or management skills within (or advising clients) in one or more of the following sectors: infrastructure (especially renewables), investment banking, private equity or M&A / investment advisory.

You will have a strong technical understanding of environmental issues, to enable assessment of projects’ environmental characteristics and risks. You will also have the ability to review and summarise large quantities of environmental information, identify the material issues, and summarise the green impact of investments and projects. Quantification of the environmental benefits (green impact) of investments is a key feature of the role, so strong numeracy skills and ability to handle data are essential.

In addition to presenting information to Green Investment Group’s senior management and investment staff, the role will also involve engagement with external stakeholders, and so requires excellent oral and written communication skills (preferably including ability with visual design).
