As we grow and continue to diversify our revenue streams, we seek a commercial and hands-on Finance Manager to oversee the day-to-day finances of the organisation and work alongside the executive team with key decision making and strategic planning. This role is a mix of accounting, financial control and strategy. 

PinkNews is currently considering the best pathway to fund the next phase of growth. The Finance Manager will have a key role in building forecasts, pitching and structuring the business for the future.

About you

You are ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent and looking to join a growing organisation and ready to make a real contribution for the next phase of growth. 

You will have strong skills in reporting, financial control and analytics. You will be comfortable with financial reporting and analysis but also day to day bookkeeping and ensuring the efficient running of the finance function. There are already lots of great processes in place, but there is always room for improvement.

If you have previously worked in digital advertising and media or have an interest/ some knowledge of the industry and want to join an innovative and fast-moving organisation then this is a unique opportunity. We are open to this role being part-time, flexible, a combination of office and home-based.

The team

No two days are the same at PinkNews. Our small, hardworking team delivers breaking news, quality journalism and original content across all platforms to a truly global audience. We are looking to grow and expand our events and content offering, whilst also building a D2C commerce brand to offer our customers unique content, commerce and community experience.

We are dedicated to achieving global equality for LGBT+ people by educating, engaging and empowering our customers through award-winning content, live events and bespoke products and services.

The role

  • Oversee the day-to-day finance function
  • Accounting and bookkeeping for the organisation
  • Ownership of monthly and quarterly reporting
  • Producing detailed analysis of revenue streams
  • Processing of monthly payroll, with the Operations and People Director
  • Developing budgeting and forecasting with each of the businesses senior team members
  • Owning all statutory submissions
  • Owning the preparation and management of the various
  • Company Audits Banking and treasury duties
  • Working with external accountants on year-end Implementation of tax compliance
  • Reviewing and improving current processes and systems within the finance function

The candidate

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant or equivalent 
  • Strong Excel skills Xero skills 
  • Payroll skills — preferred
  • Commercial yet happy to roll the sleeves up with all areas
