Our Content Technology and Innovation team delivers high-quality content to homes, customer devices, businesses and commercial partners across our European markets. With over 2500 colleagues from around the world, we combine our strategic insights, engineering know-how and operational excellence to use the most innovative technologies to create and distribute our award-winning content.
We are looking for a Media Operator to join the Sky News Ingest team based in Sky Studios in West London. As a Media Operator you'll be the central point for all incoming files and video feeds for Sky News. Acting as a liaison with production teams, ingest will manage all media coming into the studio and having a direct contribution as to what goes out on air.
As part of a team be responsible for processing and quality checking over 130,000 videos and files for Sky News
Work directly with client Sky News but also building a close working relationship with other Content handling departments, including Sky Sports News Ingest
Work on special news events such as elections and summits and be responsible for delivering the extra workloads on tight schedules
What you'll bring
A demonstrable ability to work in a fast paced and high-pressured TX Critical role
An aptitude for learning and a motivation for continuous development as a multi skilled operator
Excellent organisation skills & clear/effective communication skills
An ability to take responsibility for certain areas of work and be proactive with problem solving
A strong knowledge of and interest in Sports and current affairs
Experience of working in a broadcast environment is desirable as is an understanding of broadcast systems and production processes
