Job Details

What you'll do:
  • To provide BAU support to File Services

  • Provide out-of-hours support via an on-call rota

  • Deliver effective and timely Support for File Services Programmes & Projects

  • Identify and propose improvements to the services provided by the team

  • To act as a bridge between technology and the business to fully understand requirements and then turn them into solutions

  • Highly customer-focused analytical approach to decision making and problem resolution with experience in balancing multiple tasks and priorities

  • Lead technical discussions across departments and partner companies

What you'll bring:
  • Several years of relevant industry experience in a large enterprise company

  • Experience working in a platform engineering team in a high-pressure, fast-moving environment

  • Experience in troubleshooting and analysing sophisticated problems

  • Ability to see and act upon potential issues, whether they are technical changes, processes or procedures

  • Bash skills

  • Solid hands-on background in technology operations, with demonstrable ability in a range of technologies such as: Linux System Administration, Linux Clustering, Bash/Python Scripting, Active Directory, Packet traces (e.g. wireshark)

  • In addition, the exposure to the following technologies would be desirable: Micro Focus Open Enterprise Server, Micro Focus FILR, Micro Focus Cloud Integrated Storage

  • Provide leadership and development of the File Service/Linux platforms

  • Very high energy and enthusiasm, with a passion for delivering a fantastic service

  • Good interpersonal, relationship building and influencing skills
