Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Merchandising team for a Merchandise Controller in our Travel Head Office to manage the category supply chain team to achieve availability and fulfilment KPIS to drive sales, whilst optimising the quality of stock and performing within stock budget.

 


Key Responsibilities 

- Ensure KPIs are delivered through leadership, coaching and challenge of direct reports and key business interfaces
- Ensure stock spend is controlled within agreed targets
- Lead effective delivery of range changes; control ranges within agreed parameters
- Manage problem stock and ensure exit strategies are managed and implemented
- Set and deliver cost, quality and availability of stock targets, creating budgets and forecast outturns for this purpose
- Work with DC teams to ensure cross functional approach is taken to change management and planning
- Deputise for the Merchandising Director

- Highly analytical and numerate
- Strong attention to detail
- Retail or supplier experience
- Advanced excel
- Able to use data and personal impact to influence
- Win negotiations whilst maintaining relationships
- Able to handle conflict / difficult situations
- Resilience
- Proven leadership and coaching skills
  
 Experience & Qualifications
- Experience in a Senior Merchandiser or Buyer role ideally across a number of categories
- Supply Chain experience in retail or a supplier
- Demonstrable experience in leading and developing team
