The role is within the in our fast-paced Hardware Engineering group.

The PCB CAD and Simulation Team is responsible for developing the PCBs for our high-quality consumer electronics, bringing world class entertainment directly to our customer's homes. Our designs push boundaries of the latest technology and are deployed around the globe.

As a PCB CAD Engineer you will be responsible for PCB design and validation in conjunction with the Hardware, RF and Mechanical Teams.

Our designs are mixed technology and complexity and include core CPU design and layout, video, audio, RF, power, memory layout etc; challenges include ESD, EMC, Signal integrity, Power distribution analysis.

You should possess a can-do attitude and have the desire to deliver new and exciting hardware designs into a very dynamic market sector. You will have the opportunity to be involved in research which could influence development of future projects and technologies used in our products. As you grow you will also be a team member who will mentor and help less experienced members of the team to develop and improve.

What you'll do:
  • Design mixed technology PCB Layouts as required (Altium Designer).
  • Be involved in Design Project meetings.
  • Support and maintain PCB component Libraries.
  • Work closely with the Mechanical Design team to ensure the PCB designs fit within the designed enclosures.
  • Work with the Factory team on manufacturing test integration with PCB designs
  • Work with EMS / PCB Fabricators to develop working efficiency and understanding

What you'll bring:
  • Degree level or similar in Electronics
  • Experience with CAD software - Altium / Allegro
  • Experience of full PCB design from schematic to layout and simulation
  • Knowledge and experience of DFM, DFA, EMC, IPC standards and PCB manufacturing and assembly techniques
  • Strong analytical skills, we encourage our Engineers to question current processes and bring new ideas
  • Great communication skills

Where you'll work:

Our location takes some beating: we're practically in Brentwood station, which has regular trains to London Liverpool Street. If you find it easier to drive, there's some onsite parking, while Chatham Way car park is a short walk away. Due to the nature of this role, remote working with occasional office trips is an option.
