Subcontract Buyer - Power - Stonecross

J Murphy and Sons Ltd are currently looking for a Subcontract Buyer join our award-winning team. Our team is known for its extensive in-house expertise and continual drive to innovate within the industry. As a Subcontract Buyer you will report into the Senior Buyer and/or Procurement Manager.

What you will be doing

• Covering live construction projects through sound procurement practices
• Implement an “added value” procurement strategy for each project
• Manage the day to day procurement of subcontracts
• Provide forecast information by the set dates each month
• Attend monthly meeting to discuss subcontractor forecast including any movements in the period and future risks
• Continuous monitoring and improvement of the supply chain
• Be the prime business unit contact for Group Procurement Function
• Deliver a consistent procurement approach across all projects within the region from work winning / pre-construction stage
• Demonstrate best overall value for money in the procurement recommendations
• Ensure a robust negotiation process is applied in the engagement process. 
• Ensure contract arrangements and package details are comprehensive.

Who we are looking for

• Proven experience within a Buyer or Subcontract Buyer role.
• Experience within the Engineering or Construction industry
• Experience within Power or Energy would be advantageous.
• Subcontract packages experience.
• CIPS qualified or working towards with significant work experience
• MS package knowledge (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, MS Project)
