Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst, London

We have a fantastic opportunity for a bright and highly motivated Group FP&A Analyst to join our Group Finance team based in our head office in Liverpool Street, London. 

With exciting and ambitious international growth plans the Group is looking strengthen its FP&A capability by appointing a high-calibre, technically strong, FP&A Analyst. This is a highly visible position with regular interaction with the Head of Reporting and Planning and divisional senior management, in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting into the Group Head of FP&A, the FP&A Analyst will support the broader Group Finance team on all financial planning activities and partner with divisional finance teams across the four key business units. The successful candidate will work closely with Group Financial Reporting, Treasury and Tax.

What you’ll do:

  • Support the Head of Group FP&A in coordinating and successfully delivering all Group budgeting and forecasting models for Board-level reporting; liaising with divisional finance teams to ensure delivery of accurate and timely information and assisting with analysis and reporting as required by the Group CFO and Group Finance Director to support and influence business decisions.
  • Assist with enhancement, standardisation and automation of budgeting and planning processes across the Group, with a view to delivering agile reporting, robust financial controls, data integrity and accuracy.
  • Take an active role in the implementation of new processes around IFRS 16 forecasting and planning.
  • Support the Group reporting team in the reporting and forecasting of Group holding entities, and in the production of Year end & Interim Results and Subsidiary statutory accounts.
  • Support the Investor relations team with compiling analysts consensus data and producing ad hoc analysis
  • Support the Group Head of FP&A in ad hoc projects such as acquisition due diligence, EPS modelling etc.
  • Take a proactive approach to reporting, system and process improvements to enhance effectiveness and efficiency across the finance function, focusing on accuracy, automation and standardisation.


Knowledge, skills and experience required

Candidates must be qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA up to 2 year PQE

The successful candidate will:
 

  • Be an enthusiastic self-starter, ready to take on the steep learning curve presented by a FTSE-listed group function
  • Have excellent analytical skills and be highly competent on Excel; able to manipulate and report complex financial data, including automation of processes, into insightful and reportable format.
  • Have excellent attention to detail, and ability to prioritise effectively, efficiently and most importantly achieve tight deadlines
  • Be a strong communicator and excel at creating clear presentations, reports and financial analysis
  • Experience of listed company reporting is preferred
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP, excellent double entry, and experience of multi-currency consolidation an advantage.
